JODEN WORLD RESOURCES

Joden World Resources has what is believed to be the largest and rarest collection of the work of Carlo Giuliano (1831-1895).

The bracelet itself is a fully hinged bangle, as we would call it. It is in 18 karat yellow gold gem set with square sapphires, rubies and trimmed in diamonds which is typical of the time period.  Carlo Giuliano is considered among experts to be the master of all jewelers who ever lived. Notably a personal friend and often private jeweler to Queen Victoria.

Even more impressive is that it comes in it's original custom designed presentation box!

Also from Joden - this gorgeous mosaic suite - you just don't see much antique mosaic that doesn't show signs of loss...and again "in the original box"!

Vivid Diamonds is a Miami based company that initially specialized in cutting rough diamonds to manufacture fine white and rare natural fancy colored diamonds and diamond jewelry.

This UK based company was founded by three brothers descending from a line of jewellers, the business began as a stall in the Portobello Road Antiques Market.

From their gallery in a beautiful Edwardian building on Maddox Street in the heart of Mayfair, an area rich in the history of the antiques trade of London, today the company is at the pinnacle of their trade, with clientele across the US, Europe and the Far East.

There was quite literally, beauty in every direction at this show...

...and from Ely & Co.  (whose exquisite blue diamonds didn't photograph well), an amazing presentation of blue, pink and yellow diamond rings that included a stunning Tiffany & Co. Blue Diamond Solitaire Engagement Ring!

He also showed a really lovely collection of vintage and antique watches - some limited edition pieces (I particularly liked the one with the Maharajah Hunting Scene on the face)...

And this exquisite gold Audemars Piguet, skeleton front and back, that clips to the wearers belt.

#JWLV - Colored Gems ROCK the LV Antique Jewelry & Watch Show

At the LVAntique Jewelry & Watch Show it is interesting to see which colored gems were prevalent in different time periods.  Today we are excited by all the amazing colors of Garnet and some of the really exciting newer African Gems like Tanzanite...but in Vintage and Antique Jewelry you can pretty be sure that a deep blue stone is a Sapphire!

The "tutti-frutti" style was made popular by Cartier but several designers enjoyed the theme!  Looking forward to many variations on the theme ;)

It is official - I picked up my Press Badge this afternoon at the Mandalay Bay - Luxury by JCK and Swiss Watch by JCK are underway this week, while JCK Las Vegas starts at the end of the week.

David Copperfield - Cirque - Dancing With The Stars - YEP!  this is Las Vegas  ;)

Meanwhile all the way up the strip there are shows that feed into the Jewelry Week vibe...

At the Mirage the GLDA Show runs through the 31st...Luxury by JCK opens tomorrow...Couture opens on the 31st, along with the Las Vegas Antique Jewelry & Watch Show at the Paris Hotel and AGTA Gemfair at Mandalay Bay.  On June 1st, Niche: The Show opens at Planet Hollywood - this little show I am planning to hit as I have never been disappointed by a RosenGroup project...stay tuned for reports from all these shows!

U.S. Antique Shows, a major producer of antique shows in North America, announced it will host its 17th Annual Las Vegas Antique Jewelry & Watch Show at The Paris Hotel May 31 – June 3, 2012. This unique “trade only” event houses collections from the largest selection

of rare and unique antique jewelry, watches and gemstone items from all over the world. 

The Las Vegas Antique Jewelry & Watch Show runs concurrently with the JCK show, opening one day before. “U.S. Antique Shows is overjoyed to be able to connect the trade community with today’s latest trends,” said Andrea Canady, Show Director. “This season’s selections are amongst the rarest and unique collections we’ve seen, and we are excited to have more than 400 exhibitors fill the hall this year.”

In its 17th year, the Las Vegas Antique Jewelry & Watch Show continues to present an abundance of exquisite antiques to exhibitors and collectors committed to this thriving industry. The Show is a must attend for serious jewelry buyers and collectors that are interested in one-of-a-kind pieces impossible to obtain anywhere else.
