The Cloud? CRM? Inventory and Manufacturing Control? POS? Integrating your website with business operations? Technology doesn't have to be complicated -- but most experts make it sound that way. Come join Andrea Hill as she applies her formidable skill in making complex business subjects easy to understand to the world of business technology. Andrea is the secret weapon companies of all sizes use to increase their bottom line with expertise rarely found in one person. She has CEO, CFO and CMO level qualifications along with a passion for small businesses. #2: Thrive Online: Building a Web Presence that Really Grows Your Business
with Wendy Culpepper, Chief Strategist, Spice Marketing

Wendy is a brilliant online strategist who has the unique ability to see just what you need online to sell more jewelry, because she's been there. She fell in love with jewelrymaking during college and left her budding digital career to focus on it. But the internet remained an important focus of her business and she has finally returned to her first love full time now. She has the skills to help you break through the clutter to focus on just the online tools and techniques a designer business needs. She can explain it in a way you can hear it, too.
So let her teach you why you NEED a good online presence and what you should and shouldn't do with your website to grow your business. She'll cover why a good web presence is important, what your site should and shouldn't offer, how to add e-tail (or not!) and how to know if your site, your blog and whatever else your using is actually working for you.

Platinum Compliments the Metallics Trend!

I just got home from Tucson with the worst cold ever - so I watched the  “53rd Annual Grammy Awards” in Los Angeles on February 13th with a box of tissues...the JewelCrew over on Twitter rocked the the Red Carpet arrivals...

I have to say that I wish the other networks "got it" - ABC always does a great job of bringing the Red Carpet excitement..with their OTRC broadcasts.  For the "The Grammy's" there was supposed to be a live feed - unfortunately it crashed my computer one to many times and I gave up!

Popular words include: LOVE, XOXO, FOREVER, AMORE, TRUE LOVE, JOY, HOPE, PEACE, GRATITUDE, FAITH, TRUTH, DREAM, FRIENDS, ALWAYS, names, dates, and initials of loved ones. Learn To Sell Handmade - Halstead Scholarship Available!

HALSTEAD SCHOLARSHIPS AVAILABLE for JEWELRY ARTISTS
LEARN to SELL YOUR HANDMADE CREATIONS to GALLERIES and STORES
Through a generous gift from Halstead Bead Inc., scholarships are available for jewelry artists who want to receive business training in the Visiting Artist Program of the Buyers Market of American Craft.
The Visiting Artist Program, coming to Philadelphia February 19-20, 2011, at the Pennsylvania Convention Center, will provide one- and two-day workshops teaching craft entrepreneurship — how to launch a business, develop and promote product lines and price artwork for wholesale and retail sales.
Participants will tour the Buyers Market of American Craft, the nation’s largest wholesale tradeshow where artists from the U.S. and Canadian studios sell their work to galleries, boutiques, museum shops and catalogs.  In addition, participants will receive a portfolio or product critique from retailers and tradeshow managers.
Offered twice a year, the Visiting Artist Program is tailored for studio-based artists   who make and sell jewelry, fashion accessories and designer products for home or office such as tile, pottery, glass art and other fine crafts.  The non-profit Arts Business Institute runs the program with a faculty of experienced retailers and artists. The Visiting Artist Program will also be offered this summer in Baltimore, Md., on July 11, 2011.
Family-owned Halstead Bead Inc., www.halsteadbead.com, of Prescott, Ariz., has been a supplier of findings, chain, beads, wire and tools for jewelry artists since 1973.
A scholarship donation presented to the Arts Business Institute by Halstead Bead will cover admission fees for several jewelry artists to attend the Visiting Artist Program in 2011. The company’s own Halstead Grant is presented each year to a new jewelry designer.
To register online for the upcoming Visiting Artist Program, please visit www.artsbusinessinstitute.org. Registration is $75 for a one-day workshop and $130 for a two-day workshop. To receive a scholarship application contact Erin Hartz at erinh@rosengrp.com. The application deadline for scholarships to the Philadelphia program is February 4, 201l.  For information call 800.432.7238, ext. 206.
