Michael M. - On The Red Carpet And On Your Ring Finger!

Elisabeth Rohm selected jewelry from MICHAEL M. for the premiere of "The Client List" on Lifetime Network,  April 4th in Los Angeles:

-Vintage inspired rustic rough rose cut charcoal diamond earrings (8.96 total carats)
Retail price: $17,000

-De Luxe black diamond pear shaped split shank diamond ring (9.10 carats)
Retail price: $9,530

When you read reports like the one above the last thing you think of is "affordable" - but this is one of those rare cases.  The very same designer of that amazing  $17,000 pair of earrings  above has designed a line of jewelry that could, one day, be on YOUR left hand!

This month, jewelry designer Michael M. debuts a hand-crafted bridal collection starting from $1,000 (without center stone), available at select retailers around the country. Known as the “M. Collection”, this new line features 21 engagement rings, and 9 wedding bands in a variety of styles to suit the unique personality of every bride. While the price point is attainable, each piece is still manufactured by skilled artisans in the Michael M. downtown Los Angeles workshop, using the finest quality precious metals and sparkling diamonds.
The “M. Collection”, the tenth bridal line from Michael M., places the timeless diamond solitaire silhouette as the focal point of each engagement ring design while still blending signature elements from their most popular styles. Graceful curves and diamond accents punctuate the delicate hand-engraved details on these rings, all characterized by their femininity and dainty flourishes. Ladies’ wedding bands focus on the classic eternity style but they are updated with mixed diamond cuts and sizes.

Each piece in the “M. Collection” is engraved with a unique identification number ensuring authenticity, and a lifetime warranty guarantees heirloom quality jewelry for generations to come.

“The M. Collection was inspired by feedback from our loyal fans who admire our designs and quality craftsmanship, but can’t initially afford a $20,000 ring,” saysMichael M. CEO and designer Peter Meksian. “They can now walk out of their local jeweler with a complete customized Michael M. engagement ring for a fraction of that price.”

About Michael M.

Gail Brett Levine Recognized As International Leader

Gail Brett Levine, GIA Alumni Receives the International Leadership Award

The GIA (Gemological Institute of America) held their annual GIA Alumni Association dinner, auction and dance party on Feb. 3rd, during the Tucson Gem Show.  Gail Brett Levine, GG, was the recipient of the 2012 International Leadership Award for all she does to support the Gem & Jewelry Industries.

The GIA Global Alumni Awards recognize members who exhibit leadership, demonstrate service to the gem and jewelry industry, and actively support the association’s growth through continuing education and innovative programs.

Levine, an independent personal property appraiser, has been in the jewelry trade for 40 years and an officer in the Manhattan Chapter since the inception of the GIA Alumni Association in 1982.
“I am proud that the Manhattan Chapter is one of the gemstones in the GIA ‘Tiara of Chapters,’” she said. “I want to express my gratitude to my fellow officers and everyone I’ve worked with to make it a success.”
In 1994, Ms. Levine started a subscription based publication Auction Market Resource for Gems and Jewelry which is an in-depth report by qualified appraiser/gemologists of sales results of jewelry at auction which previews gem material that was published semi-annually.  Auction Market Resource is now solely a website.  It is currently recommended by most appraisal organizations.

On March 2004, Ms. Levine became the Executive Director of The National Association of Jewelry Appraisers - the largest membership association specializing exclusively in gem and jewelry appraising and related appraisal issues.

“The Institute commends Gail for her continued dedication to the GIA Alumni Association,” said Kate Donovan, GIA alumni relations manager. “The awards program was created to foster and inspire the alumni network, which includes 60 chapters worldwide. We thank these individuals for their enthusiasm and support of the organization.”
