Do You Ganoksin?
Ganoksin is dedicated to serve the information needs of the world's jewelers. It is our mission to educate, improve working conditions and facilitate sharing between goldsmiths globally. Ganoksin continues improving access to information for productivity, safety, skills and education of all jewelers, professionals and hobbyists.
Ganoksin maintains a substantial library of articles, publications, reports, and technical data on gem and jewelry related topics; many of which were authored by some of the most esteemed writers within their respective fields. In addition, this site contains a sizable collection of art and jewelry galleries, for both the casual visitor and the professional.
We're Puttiing Hanuman Out To Pasture....
If you are a current visitor to the Ganoksin site or you used the Library and Orchid Forum to help you through your latest project, you probably know Hanuman. He and Charles Lewton Brain (of FoldForming fame, and more) have been managing the Site since it first debuted in 1995 - well - we're losing Hanuman to an amazing sounding farm and a career in cooking!

Hanuman posted the following note on his Facebook page:
"As of May 4th, 2016, Seth Rosen from IGS (https://www.gemsociety.org/) has taken over The Ganoksin Project, Seth plans to develop the project along the same lines Charles Lewton-Brain and myself founded it back in 1995. I will gradually fade away from Orchid and Ganoksin and from the jewelry trade all together, to set up our farm Three Trees Doi Saket in Chiang Mai and will dedicate most of my time to Thaifoodmaster.... while Seth will be seeing the project's future.
As i write these words, Seth and his team of engineers are in the works, building a new platform to host Ganoksin and Orchid."
...and Orchid Digest Readers received the following note:
Seth Rosen, from the International Gem Society (gemsociety.org) has taken over Ganoksin and it's operations.
It is with great excitement that I announce a new chapter in the future of The Ganoksin Project.
Seth Rosen, from the International Gem Society (gemsociety.org) has taken over Ganoksin and it's operations. Seth brings a rare combination - a true passion for the jewelry arts, and online technical expertise and he is deeply committed to preserving the Ganoksin spirit, and assuring that the archived knowledge and Orchid Community will remain available for the next generation of jewelers and metalsmiths.
In the 20 years I have operated Ganoksin and Orchid, Ganoksin has grown to serve over a million people every year, and we host over 250,000 articles. We have reached a point that it takes a dedicated team of professional to assure Ganoksin remains the largest resources
and community of bench jewelers and jewelry manufacturers in the world.
Seth and the new team of engineers are already in the work to build a new platform for the Ganoksin website and the Orchid community.
I will be sticking around for quite a while to help Seth and the team make this transition and we will be counting on you, our loyal community members, to provide us feedback on what works and what doesn't.
Charles Lewton-Brain said: We are very excited to work together with IGS and Seth Rosen on the Ganoksin project. His commitment to maintain and grow the site is wondeful.
Seth Rosen said: I couldn't be more excited about the opportunity to take over the day-to-day of Ganoksin from Hanuman. The Orchid Community and the Ganoksin archives are a very special thing, and I look forward to working with all of you to continually improve this
amazing resource.
So - this is most certainly not a goodbye, but rather a toast to an even brighter future.
