The public has spoken and the results are in for the Martha Stewart Weddings Fan Favorites contest.  Fans of the newly re-launched Platinum Jewelry Facebook page  were invited to vote for their favorite platinum pieces by “liking” their preferences from a gallery of over 80 designs.  

40 designs were chosen and are currently housed in a stunning slideshow on the Martha Stewart Weddings website with an icon designating them “Platinum Fan Favorites.”  Some of the winning brands in the MSW jewelry gallery include: Danhov, Tacori, Erica Courtney (picture left), Novell, James Allen, Claude Thibaudeau, Mark Schneider, Chad Allison (picture right) and Designs by Vatché
 
This contest is just one of PGI’s latest marketing initiatives to bring millennial consumers a fun and interactive jewelry experience via the media platforms they spend the most time on. The hands-on nature of such a contest allows consumers to forge a stronger connection to platinum jewelry designs while learning more about the special characteristics of platinum.

Just before I got in the car to drive home yesterday I went to one last event...The presentation of the winners of the Platinum Innovation Awards were announced at a special press conference at JCK Las Vegas.


This year two awards were given in 7 categories - one was chosen at an Editors event that included editorial staff from all of the respected Jewelry and Fashion Publications, Blogs and Organizations.

The second was chosen from the show floor at JCK Las Vegas by the Buyers attending.  In a voting system much like Dancing With The Stars, various pieces throughout the show were marked with labels that instructed shoppers to text an identifying number to the PGI phonebank where the votes were tallied and announced Sunday night.

The event was beautiful - the models stunning and the winning jewels spectacular!!!

Stunning Platinum Designs at Baselworld



Baselworld 2012 was the scene for the 3rd Platinum Design Awards competition held by Platinum Guild International. Naturally white and highly durable, the most intricate of jewelry designs captured in unchanging platinum will retain their beauty for generations. The world’s greatest jewelry designers have always preferred working with platinum – as was evident in the wonderful platinum pieces entered into the Awards. 52 stunning platinum jewelry designs were displayed at the 26 participating manufacturer’s booths, and were judged by 50 international journalists visiting the show.

There were four platinum categories to enter: Men's jewelry, Bridal jewelry (most commercially appealing), Bridal jewelry (most innovative design) and Trends. Each journalist voted for the piece that, in their opinion, was the best in each category. The votes were counted and the winners were announced at a cocktail party held on Saturday evening and presented with their awards by James Courage, CEO of Platinum Guild International.
